Dear Dell Team, monitor and calibration specialists, dear forum members!

I recently bought a Dell UP2716D for photo editing and DTP. I tried to calibrate it with my xrite i1 display pro and DellUltraSharpCalibrationSolution. The results for D65 and D50 are both MUCH WORSE than software calibration with Argyll / DisplayCAL. In my opinion, the fact that you'll loose Uniformity Compensation when adjusting ANYTHING but brightness, just renders Hardware Calibration almost pointless. Changing to any other setting from native whitepoint is also discouraged through the DUSCS menu. Also the whitepoint that's set for calibration is NOT displayed in Kelvin, so you just don't know where you're going. Or can you possibly accurately calculate the white coordinates in your mind to Kelvin degrees?

Is there ANY WAY to manually re-calibrate uniformity compensation for other white points or RGB gain different  from 100/100/100?

I think DELL should make it clear to customers, that this monitor is only using UC / is only usable with a whitepoint of D65.

So I was not satisfied at all with hardware calibration because of losing uniformity compensation. Idecided to try and make the calibration work with Argyll / DisplayCAL because that way I could at least keep uniformity compensation switched on.

First I have to say that the measured white point is OFF by at least 5 Delta E, at any brightness, from D65 when using the 6500 Kelvin monitor preset, which is probably not an ideal starting point for calibration. (mesured by i1 display and argyll)

I am right now using D65, 100cd, and the RG Phosphor spectral correction profile in Argyll / DisplayCAL to calibrate with my x-rite i1 display pro. Is there possibly another EDR Profile I could use? From my experience in DUSCS I remember a cryptic preset for hardware calibration (that couldn't be changed underneath the Monitor name, starting with an X and then all numbers, but I can't find this scanning the installation file with argyll. What black point and gamma settings would you recommend?

I'd appreciate if your specialists could share their tips and wisdom for the best calibration approach for D65 / D50 in Argyll in order to get the best out of this monitor. I think this monitor could have very good and accurate picture quality, but DELL software and firmware is not really delivering it. Yes I am using the latest firmware for this monitor.
