PC 6224 - Managment Int. and VLANs
Hey all, I've had a stumper problem I haven't been able to figure out for a while. Hoping someone smarter could help me out :)
I have a 6224 that is routing public IP vlans. Among the routed vlans, I've set up a "default gw" VLAN on a small /30 that we use to talk to our provider's upstream switch and route public traffic. All this works perfectly, no issues whatsoever. I can hit the web interface just fine using the gateway address of any of the routed VLANs.
But, in the System - IP Addressing, I have the management interface assigned a private address using VLAN1 (192.168.254.55/28) that I'd prefer to use to manage the switch and send SNMP traps, etc. It's using the default gw of 192.168.254.51.
Problem is, whenever I plug in any of the ports assigned VLAN1 to our internal network's switch (doing MDIX of course), the routing goes wacky on both ends. I'm not able to leave it on long enough to try and track it down--but both sides quickly go downhill in what seems to be a routing loop.
I've tried this multiple ways, but can never seem to get the problem nailed down. If any information is needed off the switch to help troubleshoot, just ask!
