Setting up QoS for Microsoft Teams on N2048P
Hello there
We have been experiencing significant issues with video and audio quality issues on our Microsoft Teams conference calls.We therefore have decided to set up Quality of Service for Microsoft Teams as per Microsoft's guidance here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams/qos-in-teams
Microsoft advises that we use Group Policy Objects to set up DSCP markings for Audio, Video and screen sharing traffic which instructs clients to use the DSCP markings.
However, Microsoft advises that this must be configured end-to-end, as in all devices on on the path from the workstation to the firewall. I've managed to get this configured on our Sophos firewall, but we also have a N2048P switch stack made up of four nodes, this is where I'm running into issues.
We don't have VLANs set up on this network, nor do we have traditional desk phones to set up a Voice VLAN for.I've gone through the configuration to set this up via the DiffServ configuration.
This is what I have so far:
I've set up classes for the following
Voice-TCP, Voice-UDP, Video-UDP, Video-TCP, Sharing-TCP, Sharing-UDP
For each of these I'm matching by using either TCP or UDP and the DSCP markings created by the client.
I've then created two QoS Policies for both ingress and egress which comprises of all the above classes.
I'm not looking at the Policy Class Definition and I think I need to assign this traffic to a queue, but I'm not sure if what I've done so far is at all correct, and I'm not sure how to proceed from here.
