I've just taken delivery of a new dell dimension 3000.  When I first switched it on windows xp home detected a new device.  I thought this was probably normal.  It then stated that it could not find the driver for "PCI simple communications controller".  I inserted the modem disk, and it searched the internet - but it still could not find it.

 

I currently stuck with an exclamation mark in the device manager for PCI simple communications controller.

 

Any ideas ?
