Sometimes I lose my router to my internet connection (DSL).  My DSL provider (ATT Yahoo) says when this happens I need to temporary hard wire (Cat 5) and connect through the network adaptor (my case it is the Intel Pro/100 VE Network Connection).  After I get a connection via the Cat5 Cable, I then just disconnect and re-hook-up as wireless and it works.  They say I need to hardwire since the router has lost the user id and password to their site.  They say it loses this information due to some type of interfearence such as the router too close to modem, power supply too close, etc.  This is a pain in the...

 

My question is:

 

Is this the correct cause (interference)?

 

Is there a better fix than unhooking and rehooking up like firmware updates?

 

Last resort (i don't want to do this but) Should I move an old computer over to the router so that I always have a hard wire connection?

 

P.S. My router is speed stream 5360 and wireless router is Belkin F5D7230-4 (wireless G).  In my set up the router is not hard wired to a computer
