I have a Dimension 9150 BIOS A07 w/ XP SP2 .

I added a Samsung Spinpoint 500gig drive.  The bios recognizes it; XP seems to recognize it as a second drive, it will do a format but then if I try to use it as the only drive and install XP it isn't recognized.

Does it need a low lever format first? 

Can this be an issue because of the fast data rate 3gbs?
