NEED HELP INSTALLING OPERATING SYSTEM

Question

I recently purchased a used Dell Dimension 4100 for my granddaughter. It was installed with Windows 2000 and had password protection on the harddrive which could not be cracked. I did not get any help from the seller so I wound up taking it to a local computer shop and had the harddrive wiped clean. I am now trying to install Windows Mellinium with no luck. I have a boot floppy and have Windows mellinium on cd-rom. The computer will boot to the set-up screen but when I try to run the cd-rom, it will not load the OS. I NEED HELP!!!!!! I don't want to have to take it back to the shop if I can help it. sbstover

If you can, try and get XP. I had Millenium on my 4100, and I had lots of problems. I upgraded to XP, and the problems have disappeared. I really don't know what's going on with the system when you try to install Millenium, so can't help you there. If you want, you can try to get XP.
