Tools - Error - Checking Failure
Hi folks, need some help. I have been performing Error - checking with tools and have been recently unable to get it to work. When it begins I receive a message that includes a statement " cannot open volume for direct access".
Any info would be appreciated.
thanks

This problem has been reported by people who have upgraded to ZoneAlarm version 5. You should be able to force the run by going to Start|Run, entering chkdsk /x and clicking OK. Chkdsk will run when the computer is restarted.

I have also been researching this problem. Found this from Microsoft but does not contain an answer. My problem with check disc is definititely caused by the new version of Zone Alarm Pro.

aps@sun, thanks for the info and the link. I removed Zonealarm 5, and error-checking now works.
thanks
