Long time connecting to RDSH

Hello,

After upgrading from 7.6 to 8 it takes a long time to connect to published Desktop. It takes cca. 30s to connect, before upgrade it was under 5s.

Also, if we connect directly to RDSH the time is under 5s, so it look like there is somethin on connection broker itself.

Any idea?

Robert

Hello Andrew

We have made some additional testing and then we figure out, that the problem must be in a ProxyIT role. For now, 95% of clients is using a legacy rdp client (win and linux thin clients) for connecting to vWorkspace farm thru connection broker and only those legacy clients are dealing with long connection times.

Connecting time with AppPortal is OK.

Hello,

Is this the time it takes until you start logging in?

Is EOP Xtream enabled on the Server side? In the vWorkspace management console, drill down to the RDSH server. Right Click on it and select properties.

Next click experience optimization, Which setting is set for EOP Xtream?

Now on your AppPortal, click Actions | Manage connections | Experience.

Is EOP Xtream enabled there?

Does the amount of time taken change when you turn this off / on at the client side?

Be warned, if you try to change the EOP settings on the Server side, it will require a reboot.

Try doing a direct connection using pntsc (instead of mstsc) is that quick ?

If you turn off all extra options in AppPortal, is that quick?

Finally, are you mostly testing with AppPortal or Webaccess?

Thanks, Andrew.
