vWorkspace Virtual Desktop Extensions on Ubuntu (error: not found)

I have a potential customer which are interested in vWorkspace, but they want to use it to broker Linux desktops based on Ubuntu.

I have installed VDE on CentOS without any issues, but the customer is not interested in running CentOS, which will be a deal breaker.

They are also looking at Virtual Bridges.

So I have been stuggling trying to get it working on Ubuntu, but I get "permission denied" when trying to start the qdcsvc service, but that was due to the file not being executable.

When I make the file executable, I get another error , which states "/etc/init.d/qdcsvc.sh: 45: qdcsvc.sh /usr/local/bin/qdcsvc: not found

The file is definately in /usr/local/bin and is listed as qdcsvc

permissions on the file are as follow:

-rwxr-xr-x

Any help would be greately appreciated as I have to do a demo this Friday.

Running vWorkspace 8.0 on Ubuntu 13.01, tried 4 versions.
