My son has an Aurora R5 with i7-6700 processor (4 cores-8MB cache Turbo boost 2.0 up to 4.0GHz) 16GB DDR4 at 2133MHz, 256GB PCle SSD (Boot) + 1 TB 7200 Rpm SATA 6Gb/s,  NVIDAI GeForce GTX 1080 with 8GB GDDRX5. 

For his birthday he wants to "upgrade" the machine for gaming.  I have no clue and got the above information off the sales receipt.

Can it be upgraded?  Will that make much of a difference?  the 16GB of RAM, is that two 8GB or four 4GB?

Exactly what can I buy that can easily upgrade this machine, or are we putting mag wheels on a Model T?

I am not particularly slick regarding these things so please, speak slowly
