Changing the Dimension XPS LED Color via software in Linux?

Question

I've seen lots of posts about changing the color of the XPS LED on the case using both BIOS and using the 'XPS Gaming Interface' under Windows. I'm wondering if there is any technical information available on how this is done. I'd like to write a silly driver in Linux to do this (unless one already exists, but I can't find it)

Did you ever receive a response to this or figure it out? I'm running Ubuntu on my M170 and would like to be able to change LED color without booting to BIOS.

I have written a windows one.

You can download here: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ftp/bin/setup.exe once installed the program can inform and fetch new updates itself.
