kernel panic when using static IP configuration with broadcom wifi?

Hi *,

Yesterday I tried to configure my wlan-connection to static IP, but that resulted in reproducible kernel-panic upon first data transfer..

No such problems with the very same network when using dhcp.

unfortunately that panic even blocks magic-sys-rq, so I cannot sync any logs to disk, so I only have blinking caps-lock-led as hint :-/ (and of course numerous hard reboots to verify the causation)

Anyone else experiencing kernel-panics related to the broadcom wifi with static-IPs?

(kernel 3.19.8, Bios A04)

Try applying this patch:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bcmwl/+bug/1415880

I believe that it is what is causing the kernel panics. I applied it and I have had great wifi and no kernel panics since.

Thanks - that seemed to have helped :-)
