Differences between Dimension, Inspiron, and Latitude

Hello,

I am interested to buy notebook computer. What are the technical differences or limitations between :

Dell Inspiron
Dell Latitude
Dell Dimension

I'm engaged in software development. I would be happy and appreciate it very much if anyone can recommend me a better one in terms of the functionalities and/or performances.

In some cases, there are Inspirons and Latitudes that differ only cosmetically and/or in peripherals - the 600m/D600 and 8600/D800 are almost identical. In other cases, there are models offered in one line and not another (the budget models - the Inspiron 5100/5150/5160 have not appeared as Latitudes, though the lower-end 1100/1150 have).

Latitudes offer the option of US-based support if you're willing to pay for it; Inspirons do not.

Dimensions are desktops; Inspiron and Latitude are notebooks.

I thank you.  It was hard to diferentiate on the screen.  I then redefine my same question for inspiron and lattitude.  Which one perform better, lattitude or inspiron ? What are the major differences between the two?   Again, thank you

Even when there are comparable models, the Latitudes tend to have the legacy ports (serial and parallel) and both the stick and pad input devices. Latitudes tend to have more (but not necessarily better) option selections. Latitudes don't have the junk trial version software installed. The warranties are better. Some people think they are better built. The major downside of a Latitude is they cost more for equivalent configurations.

I would appreciate if everyone who sees this message votes either for Latitude or Inspiron. Let's disregard the cost criteria while compairing the two models.

If cost were no object, Latitude. As for the model, it depends on how you intend to use the system. There is an on-line notebook selector (on the small business site) that can help.
