I don't have disknag on my system, but you don't need it. All it does is remind you to make the backup diskettes when you first receive your system. If it is listed under Add/Remove programs you can uninstall it. If not, remove any mention of it from your startup files (autoexec.bat, config.sys, system.ini, and win.ini).

Thanks for your assistance. I eliminated the program and as you stated, the problem desisted. My home desk top is now running as designed.
Tomorrow, I get to try to diagnose my Latitude with the Dell Techs. It stops booting shortly after the Window 98 logo screen and turns itself off. When I restart the beast, the laptop boots up in the safe mode. To this point, I can't seem to find anything wrong with the configuration. If you have any ideas, please let me know.
Thanks with the help with my home desk top. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
Just a guess on my part, but booting into Safe mode can indicate a damaged Registry. You might try booting to a known good registry (you should have four of them stored). You can see if that helps by trying the following:
1.Restart the computer. 2.Hold down the Ctrl key until the Startup menu appears 3.Choose "Command Prompt Only" 4.Type SCANREG /RESTORE and hit ENTER You'll be given a list of backups to choose from 5.Restart the computer.
Note that there is a space between SCANREG and /.
It might not help, but it can't hurt.
