Monitor scrambled during start-up.

Question

I just received my new Dimension L800R with windows me, during start-up the monitor scrambles with, all information compressed into horizontal lines. After start-up completes everything returns to be normal. Any ideas?

I don't know your system and don't use ME. I have worked on systems with ME and have not seen this. But this probably is not a problem because different systems have different video cards and drivers for the cards. Your video driver loads when windows starts and it sounds like it is loading just fine. You can also search Dell's driver site and look for an updated video driver and that might stop the lines you are seeing before windows starts. If you want to call Dell and are willing to be on hold a while, then maybe they could talk to you about this. Make sure the monitor is connected properly and snug to the video card connector in the back of the system.
