I have two Dell Inspiron 1525 laptops, one was mine and working no problem but the other I was given to me.  I thought I would try plugging the broken screen into my working one and the screen is dim.   

I reconnected my screen and found that my screen was now dim.  I ran the diagnostics program and found Error code 2000-0326 inverter unable to turn off.

This is what I have tried so far and hasn’t worked.

• double checked all the connections
• Plugged into an external monitor and its fine.
• Flashed the bios
• Tried different cable from motherboard to screen
• Phoned Dell and say that I need to replace screen and inverter for £225 with discount!!! (obviously not an option)

Anyone got any suggestions?
