esata port

I have a Dell Studio 15 model 1555 Windows 7 Home 64bit that came with a Esata port. I have a Thermaltake BlacX Duet that holds 2 sata HDs. I connected this unit with 2 HDs installed. The computer recognized the HD in slot 1 but did not recognize HD in slot 2. It does recognize both HDs if I use the optional USB port on the Thermaltake BlacX Duet. Please help with fixing this problem.

this setup works perfectly on my XP Pro desktop, so I would think the hardware in not the problem.

I installed the most recent Dell bios and Intel chipset driver for this model.
