Starting Bluetooth

Question

I'm running an Inspiron 6400 with XP-Pro. I have (and have used successfully) Bluetooth on it. Unfortunately, at some time in the past, I think that I chose to stop bluetooth using the pop-up menu in the task navigation area - at least the icon is now gone. Now I would like to turn Bluetooth on again. All the docs (I can find) say to right-click on the icon in the task navigation area. Unfortunately, that icon is no longer there and I can't seem to restore if though I've tried everything I know of. In particular, I can go to the task bar properties and select it from the Past Items part of the Customize list and select 'Always visible'. I hit apply and ok but it does not return to the systray. Every command such as the bluetooth set-up wizard complains that bluetooth is stopped and provides no alternative actions. This has to be simple. Please help. Thanks, --Don

Does Bluetooth show up in Device Manager without problem indications?   If yes, click Bluetooth Devices in Control Panel and Add Devices to start the wizard.

Sorry, I don't have XP at home and work! I recommend the best way is to contact Dell or go to Bluetooth settings > options > unmark 'turn off bluetooth adapter' > and your done! To turn it off do the same way but by marking the 'turn off bluetooth adapter'! :|!
