I have a new Dell Studio laptop with a firewire 1394 socket.  I also have an external hard drive that supports firewire 400 and 800 but the supplied plug does not fit into the laptop (socket is too small).  Is there an adapter I can buy please

Also, the hard drive has no power supply - can it get power from the 1394 socket in the laptop?
