Adding a 2ns DSL modem just for wireless computers

Id like to get a wireless-g router simply so i can use my notebook outside. Where my modem & wireless router is now is too far underground and away from the backyard to get a good signal.

Can i simply plug the phone line into a new DSL modem then connect to the the wireless G router?

(id have a new wireless-g notebook card also)

I don't really need the computers networked so i figure this would also prevent anyone who accesses the wireless signal from getting into my main computer as id remove the router from the main.

Would the modem and router have to be configured or can they simply be plugged in?

is this as simple as i hope it is?

thanks, Mike

TO do that, you'd need a whole second phone line and DSL service, as you can only have one DSL modem per line.

Just encrypt the signal and enable MAC filtering for the wireless router and NO ONE can access the wireless signal but that one MAC Address.
