Dimension B110 NIC does not work with WINDOWS 2000
New system came loaded with WinXP... I replaced that with Windows 2000 at first boot. The NIC drivers on the utility CD DO NOT WORK...I have downloaded R91081.EXE from Dell's site and it does not work. Any suggestions?

Did you install the chipset drivers before attempting to install any other device drivers. Chipset drivers are necessary before Windows can recognize or install drivers for many other devices.

After installing the Intel chipset driver, you will also need to install the video driver. You can download a network card driver for this system from Intel. Check this link:

Thank you very much for your help. Yes I had installed the system drivers, video drivers, and sound drivers, in that order. I had installed the R91081.EXE with no success.
What worked was downloading and runing PRO2KXP.exe from the Intel web site Big Brother linked me to.
After accepting Intel's license, all that was necessary was click on the file and the job was done.
Of course the download was done with another computer then copied to a USB jump drive from which I then copied to the computers that needed it.
