gmail issues

I hope this is the correct forum to put this in, as nothing really seemed to apply to my particular problem. If this is in the wrong forum then I apologize, and please feel free to move it to the correct one.

About a week ago I had to do a system restore, nothing major, only went back a couple of days. Now however, for some reason I find myself unable to access certain google webpages including www.google.com and more importantly gmail.com. I use both of these often and would really like to be able to use them again.

They both working on the day the restore point I used to restore my system and I have not at this point noticed any other websites that I am unable to access. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,

If you are using Internet Explorer, try clearing all temporary internet files.

Check your Filewall & security settings to see if either site has been blocked.

Exactly what error message do you get.

Please advise computer model &series,

Operating System and to which updates / service pack levels,

Try a different browser, Firefox or Opera.

Yes, give us all your computer specs. But most importantly tell us what virus protection/firewall you are using because they are usually the programs that would inhibt what websites you can view. Certain firewalls DO NOT WORK properly with gmail as I myself use it. It took me a lot of work to be able to use it with EZ armor (which is terrible by the way so don't use it if you can avoid it)
Best Regards~Justin

G-Mail works juts fine with IE and the XP firewall in the default configuration.  The easier thing to do would be add www.mail.google.com to your trusted sites.

Great, thanks everyone. Somehow I've magically got it working again and I'm hoping it stays that way.
