To troubleshoot this problem, try starting the computer in Safe Mode with Network Support. If it works in that mode, then you know it is a program running from startup in Normal mode that is causing the problem. You can then disable the startup programs, one a time, using msconfig to isolate the problem startup program.
My wife walked out to my shop I said "I fixed it" :smileysurprised: I'm far from an expert and she has much less experience than me.
I had uninstalled Norton completely I thought. She said all she did was go in to ADD/REMOVE Programs and run an uninstall for Norton and Removed from there. I had uninstalled Norton 360 from START / all programs / uninstall Norton 360. I'm still a bit confused on the matter. Now I'll have to contact Norton to get my paid for Virus protection back up and runnin I suppose. Reckon I'll have a few choice words about the results of my 1 hr + time spent on the phone with their tech support, who assured me Norton was not the culprit. Makes me wonder if I should continue to use their service or not:smileymad:

Glad you found the problem. I stopped using Norton several years ago because of problems just like this. Good luck keeping it all running.
