Are you trying to connect to the airport base station through wireless or through an ethernet connection? The message "network cable unplugged" means that their is nothing connected to the ethernet card on your computer. If you are trying to connect to the base station through a wired connection, then this is a problem. If you are trying to connect to the base station through a wireless connection, then the ethernet card doesn't have to be connected to anything.
I am trying to connect wirelessly. I will just ignore the LAN message about the network cable and use the ifelix information to hopefully get the wireless network up and running. Thanks for your help!
