Networking problems on new Windows 7 32-bit install
Hello,
I just did a dual boot with Windows 7 and Ubuntu on my Dell Inspiron N4010. Everything worked great automatically in Ubuntu, but not in Windows. I tried to install everything relevant from the Drivers and Downloads page in the correct order - chipset, intel storage, ethernet controller, quickset...but no dice. Perhaps my problem is that I have not been able to install the System Software - I've tried two different options, but it comes up with an error message saying that it is not supported in my system. How can I find the correct System Software to install?
Even with the ethernet controller installed, ethernet does not work, and I can't find which wireless driver is applicable to me. I searched msinfo, which told me that I have WAN Miniport installed, but when I try to connect, Windows detects no hardware for connecting to the internet. I even have the original drivers and software CD that came with my computer, but it didn't help either. The drivers and downloads page does not list a wireless driver for my service number. How can I find the correct wireless drivers?
Any advice?
Thanks!

Thank you for the private message.
I am glad that you were able to get the Wireless to work. I appreciate your technical expertise.
I have checked the configuration and see that your system was shipped with Windows 7 64 bit. In your post, you have mentioned that you have installed Windows 7 32 bit. The drivers available on our website are for Windows 7 64 bit only.
There are 3rd party drivers available for Atheros AR8152 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller shipped on your system. However, they have not been tested on Dell systems and may or may not work.
You may download and install the 32 bit version from the link below:

Let me know if you need any information or assistance. I will be glad to help.

Hi mmort,
Please check the original configuration of the system on the following link:
http://dell.to/Mbe3zg
Once on the link, enter the system Service Tag and click Submit. Then select the Original System Configuration tab. It would list the parts shipped with the system. Locate the wireless card installed on your system. Once you are sure about the make of the card, download and install the relevant drivers from the link below:
http://dell.to/UyjTbY
The Wireless drivers would be listed under the ‘Network’ category. Please refer to the following video for the steps to install the drivers:

I am also sending a private message. Please reply with the Service Tag of the system so that I can look at the configuration and suggest applicable steps.
Let me know if you need any information or assistance. I will be glad to help.
