driver / firmware upgrade question
Hi there,
i have a PowerEdge 2400 with Windows 2003 server standard. i would like to upgrade the SCSI / RAID driver/firmware in order to get Array Manager ticking over correctly. My current versions are 2.1.3.2939 / 4944 and i need to get to 2.6+.
the instruction on this site say to upgrade the driver then the firmware - but the driver upgrade has a prerequisite of 2.6+ firmware implying i should load the 2.6 firmware first, but if i do, my drivers wont be recognized [as per this sites instructions] rendering my system unbootable.
if anyone could enlighten me as to the correct order for this procedure i would be most thankful.

Hey.. Hope this is not too late.. even if it is.. it may help someone else. I am updating servers left and right, trying to get them to the latest bios, firmware, etc. I am upgrading a bunch of Perc3di Controllers and made what I thought was a mistake. I was going to Ver 2.8 (driver / firmware) I applied the Windows Driver First (as the docs state) and then went to apply the firmware update.. it failed. Looked into it and found this server had missed the last updates and was too far behind in its firmware version to bring up without applying a couple of "previous" versions. Did this no problem at all. Windows event viewer gave a couple of errors, but once everything was caught up and even, it was all good.
