PowerEdge 2900 Power Supply
Hi, Can some tell me whether Both green LED's indicate OK (or are 'On') when the unit is removed from the server and plug into the AC supply and switch on??
I suspect the power supply module is faulty and I only have one installed and would like some verification that it is faulty because when removed from the server and connected to the AC only the AC green LED on 'On' but the yellow fault LED does not show a fault, ie is 'Off'.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Dougie92,
It is uncertain that the power supply is faulty although the indicators are showing normal state. It could be on the connection between the power distribution board and the power supply. If you have a down time, try swapping PSU slots, to check if it's a slot issue or power supply issue. If issue persist following on slot, then it's the power distribution board (PDB).

I think you may have misunderstood my scenario. The question is what is the normal status of the LED's when removed from the server power slot and plugged into the AC power? In other words, would both green LED's be 'On', if the PSU is OK or would the AC power LED be the only one 'ON'?

Hi Dougie92,
Got it. If the PSU is been removed from the slot, and AC is plugged in, only 1 LED is lid. The AC icon LED will light up.
