Hard Drive Failure - Retrieving Microsoft Office HELP !

Hopefully someone can help me. Last week I had a hard drive failure on my Dell Dimension 8400 Desktop PC.   I took it down the local PC World store (I am in the UK by the way) and for 150 pounds they replaced my fatally damaged Maxtor SATA HDD 250GB with a Samsung one, SATA and 250GB as well. They also managed to make the Maxtor one a slave drive and save about 75 to 85% of my data. All in all I was please to only lose so little.   Added to that I have a backup on an external hard drive which may minimise that loss even more.   My problem, however, is that when I got the machine home I have lost all my Microsoft Office applications. I have checked through all my CD's I got from Dell when I bought the machine, and there is no mention of MS Office being on there. I know I paid for it, but there is not a CD present.   What chances do I have to get a fresh installation disc for Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook and Access, and whatever comes with it (Not Powerpoint, I never had that). As far as I can see I am going to have to pay again for the software.   If anyone could help me i would be grateful.

You are probably out of luck, unless you have the invoice showing you paid for it, and even then after this long time it would be a slim chance of getting them.    An alternate is to download the free 'Open Office' suite of programs that are MS Office compatible.  Do a google search of 'OpenOffice'.
