i have an inspiron 1505 and want to add a partition but vista says that i can only have 4. dell has put 2 partitions that show as empty and i want to know if i can delete one of them or create a 5th partition to add another operating system without wrecking my computer.

You should be able to resize your main partition in Vista Disk Management, though the options may be a bit limited on drives that are already formatted.
