symclone activate command with SRDF
Hi,
I currently has the following scenerio -
Using Symcli I perform a symclone recreate -precopy followed by a symclone activate on a set of clone devices. This works as expected and takes under a second to complete the command and exit successfully.
I have another set of clone devices that are also part of a SRDF relationship. For example I have file1 that contain the list of clone devices and I have srdf-file1 that contains the list of cloned devices in file1 and the remote devices.
file1 srdf-file1
0001 0004 0004 110
0002 0005 0005 111
0003 0006 0006 112
I suspend the SRDF relationship that works as expected, I then perform a symclone recreate -precopy that works as expected. I then run symclone activate command that works as expected but takes approxiamtely 6 seconds to complete and exit. I then resume the SRDF relationship.
I can see from tracing the system calls that the process that includs the SRDF relationship performs more system calls than the local clone when executing the activate command.
Can anyone inform me what is occurring in the background and why the activate command takes three times longer to finish even though the SRDF relationship has been suspended?
Thanks
Jarrod
