Norton vs McAfee

Question

My new Dell came with McAfee VirusScan Online installed.  Not sure if it's a 90 day trial or 1 year.  Would like to use Norton, instead, and plan to uninstall VS after expiration and purchase Norton.  I have been noting some posts about problems getting McAfee uninstalled.  I'm hoping not to have to do anything too 'technical' to get this accomplished!  Any comments?   Thanks
