Since only 1 account has the problem, it's most likely a problem with that account's settings. Has this account been scanned for malware lately?

You could create a new user with the same authority and delete the old account. The new user can then take possession of the files belonging to the deleted account (you may want to back them up first, just to be safe). Might be whole lot faster than trying to figure out what's wrong with the exisiting account.

Ron,  Can't run program to check for malware. I am making a new user with every thing I can save now. Did not know I could thak control of previous users files. But would still liked to find fix.

Thank you for your input.

Let me explain what's happening. You have a program, either good or bad, trying to access the internet, but Internet Explorer is set up to dial up AOL automatically (many ISPs do the same thing).

Here's how to fix this. Go to Control Panel, Internet Options, the Connections tab. Under Dial-up settings, select the radio button Never Dial a Connection.

If that does not solve your problem, uninstall AOL conpletely, and reinstall it. When you are given the option to make AOL your default program for internet access, say NO.

Your next job is to find out what program is trying to access the internet and fix it before it sends any important information out.
