Error 1606

Question

First i would like to say that i'm not sure if this is where i should be asking for this help, but since i've had very few problems with my dell i'm not very sure where to ask. This error message came up as i was trying to reload my ATI software. This is what the message basicaly looked like on my screen when it was installing the multi media part of the program:   MMC86 Error1606,could not avvess network location\windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft.windows.gdiplus_ g595b64144ccf1df_1.0.0.0_x-ww_8d 353f13   If someone knows where to get the help i need for this it would be greatly appreciated. You may need to redownload the file as it  may be corrupted. If the error continues you may need to try a repair install of windows to cure this problem or do a format and reinstall if this does not cure the problem.

Did the re-install under the repair mode for xp, thats where the problem originaly started when i did a re-install after which i had to re-instal the video card software.But if i do a re-format with the re-instal wich is a last resort would prolly work . trying to stay away from re-format.
