I used to open a new window when clicked on a thumbnail or opened a new explorer window from start/internet explorer.

 

Now, the thumbnail or new explorer window opens in the original window.  I can't even use the back arrow to get back to the original window.

 

How can I have a thumbnail or new explorer open an independent window and leave my original intact?
