Problems Ghosting on a Latitude 131L
We normally buy Latitude 120L and we have no problems using Symantec ghost to create images.
However we bought a few of the 131Ls and eventhough the Latitude 131L has the same Broadcom 440x 10/100 Intergrated Controller and the Broadcom PXE is enabled in the BIOS we are not able to ghost. The driver version is 4.52.
There is nothing wrong with the network connection as we are given an ethernet address but it stops at the section where it says loading and at this point it should send a message to the server which then comes back saying successful and then the ghost process commences.
Unfortunately Dell Support could not help and advised me to check with Symantec and Broadcom.
Broadcom will only speak to their customers i.e. Dell so I got nowhere with them and Symantec say it's a problem with the Broadcom NIC and advise downloading updated drivers etc. This did not work and anyway I cannot see how this will help as the version on my Latitude 120L is 4.37 and this ghosts with no problems.
I cannot roll back the driver version to 4.37 and cannot install this version of the driver as the one already included is a higher version so it won't install one lower.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks
