Go to SolutionXPS 15 7590, false battery warning
Hallo everyone, I have a XPS 15 7590 and when I wanna wake my laptop up from sleeping it's saying it doesn't have any battery left. Today I went to school with my laptop left at 66%. When on school I wanted to write down what my professor was saying so I took my laptop and when turning on my laptop said: "warning low battery". Back on my dorm I plugged in my laptop and it said 65% left and charging.
I went looking in the BIOS and starting with AC power isn't on. For the rest Dell Power Manager is saying my battery is excellent. I'm having this trouble after updating my BIOS to version 1.8.1. I only have my laptop for one year and it's a very good one. I hope you can help me with my problem.

We cannot speak to why a replacement battery solved some user issues. The messaging we received was to not replace any hardware. We have been told that the BIOS update scheduled to be released on June 30, 2021 will correct this false battery warning.

I am also having the exact same problem. My XPS 15 9570 has started giving false 1% battery remaining warnings, and as soon as I plug it in, the original battery percentage would get restored. Please help.

I am facing exactly the same issue with my XPS 15 7590. It's only been a year since I got my laptop. Hope a solution is available soon.

Same problem with my 7590. Dell Support remoted into my machine to try to fix it and only made it worse. The tech disabled hibernation, so instead of getting the false battery warning, the machine would simply drain itself for real overnight I re-enabled hibernation and am back where I started. I noticed the issue for the time just a couple/few weeks ago.

The problem doesn't seem to be of bios because I have not updated it as the newer bios doesn't support undervolting and I still got the same problem. It seems that this problem started at the same time with all users. Most probably it's due to some other automatic system update. Hope to get it fixed soon.

I have exactly the same problem with those fake battery warnings in XPS 15 7590, already 5 months now, a laptop purchased in less than 1 year and with a battery of excellent health.
You hibernate/sleep with full battery and then BIOS (latest firmware) reports only 1% after waking up. If you somehow manage to get into the OS, unless you plug the charger immediately for the system to get back the real percentage, the OS will forcefully shut down. Moreover, while I was idling in the BIOS with supposed 1% (in reality it was 50%), the battery was drained in less than 5 minutes.
It is clear that this issue, remaining unresolved for so many months and so many users, essentially renders the portability of the device *totally useless*, as you cannot carry it with you anymore: your laptop is just another desktop.
Super frustrating if you contemplate the amount of money this model costs.

I've managed to replace the battery (A03 with an A07) a week ago and I can confirm that there is no false warning anymore. Replacing the battery without any software updates solves the issue.
