Ryzen 5 processors offer 6 cores, 12 threads, and up to 5.0 GHz maximum boost clock speed for casual gaming and photo and video management. Ryzen 7 processors boast 8 cores, 16 threads, and up to 5.1 GHz maximum boost clock speed for high-performance gaming and demanding image and video editing applications. And Ryzen 9 processors feature up to 16 cores, up to 32 threads, and up to 5.4 GHz maximum boost clock speed for ultimate gaming performance and professional-class content creation.

In general, each new generation of processors features advances in architecture and energy efficiency that allow the processors to deliver more speed and power. The latest 7000 generation of Ryzen processors feature the same number of cores and threads as the 5000 generation, but deliver a big increase in clock speed and CPU cache memory.
