The convenient connection of a smartphone with the power of a PC

Simple

Cellular data provides the same instant connection as a smartphone when you are away from a trusted Wi-Fi network, so you won’t have to spend valuable time getting online.

Seamless

Gone are the days of sharing bandwidth and slow connection speeds. Have optimal flexibility to productively work from anywhere with always-on 4G or 5G connectivity you can count on.

Secure

Connect to a 4G or 5G network with ease for secure anywhere-work. Built-in defences of the industry’s most secure commercial PCs protect sensitive data. End-to-end network encryption removes reliance on unsecured public Wi-Fi or personal hotspots.

83% of organisations report increased 5G demands due to AI

From endpoint AI processes to communication workflows, 5G provides the bandwidth, speed, and stability required to execute these high-demand operations.

Connectivity Key Terms

Mobile broadband allows you to connect laptops and tablets to the web anywhere you can get a mobile signal. You can connect to a 3G, 4G, or 5G network through an embedded modem and a physical or virtual SIM card.

Mobile broadband modems are categorised by technology and performance. 4G LTE is the current mainstream technology and is available in two versions: Cat 9 (standard speeds) and Cat 16 (faster speeds), the latter offering up to 1Gbit/s of performance.

5G is the new standard that will take over in the coming years with a tremendous increase in bandwidth and even lower latency. 5G modems can connect to 5G or 4G networks.

4G/5G and Wi-Fi are complementary technologies that provide mobile connectivity. Wi-Fi is used mainly in buildings and densely populated areas due to its shorter range, while 4G/5G offers broader coverage and a nationwide network available even in remote areas.

Public Wi-Fi can seem like a convenient option for staying connected. However, it's essential to consider the potential risks associated with relying solely on public networks. Public Wi-Fi networks can be unsecured, making it easier for cybercriminals to intercept sensitive information or launch attacks.

A Connected PC provides a secure and reliable internet connection without needing to rely on potentially risky public Wi-Fi networks.

Connecting to a phone hotspot is a clunky experience and is difficult for less technical employees. It may be useful for quick and simple tasks like sending e-mail, but it is not well-suited to activities requiring reliable connectivity over a long period (such as extended video meetings) that can drain the user’s smartphone battery quickly.

Laptops with mobile broadband and an active data plan allow for instant connectivity and a better connectivity experience.

Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) is a physical card with a chip that allows a mobile carrier to match your device with your account so that you can connect to their network.

Embedded SIM (eSIM) also referred to as a virtual SIM, is a programmable SIM card that is embedded directly into the device, that plays the same role as a physical SIM.
