In this video, we will demonstrate how to remove and install the memory modules.
Before removing the memory modules, read through the safety guidelines to protect your computer from potential damage and ensure your personal safety.

To remove the left-side cover, remove the two thumbscrews that secure the left-side cover to the chassis. Gripping firmly on the tab on the left-side cover, slide the cover towards the back of the computer and remove the left-side cover off of the chassis.
Now let’s remove the memory modules. Lay the computer with its right side facing down. Use your fingertips to carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory module slot.
Grasp the memory module near the securing clip, and then gently ease the memory module out of the memory module slot. Repeat these steps to remove any other memory modules installed in your computer.
If the memory module is difficult to remove, gently ease it back and forth lengthwise to remove it from the slot. You have successfully removed the memory modules.
Now let’s see how to install the memory modules. Ensure that the securing clips are in an open position. Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the memory module slot.
Insert the memory module into the memory module connector, and press down until the memory module snaps into position, and the securing clip locks in place.
Ensure that the securing clips return to the locked position. If you do not hear the click, remove the memory module and reinstall it. Repeat these steps when installing more than one memory module into your computer.
Once the memory modules are installed, install the left-side cover. To install the left-side cover, align the tabs on the left-side cover with the slots on the chassis and slide it towards the front of the computer.
Replace the two thumbscrews that secure the left-side cover to the chassis. The memory module installation process is now completed. For more information, see the Service Manual document at dell.com/support.
