From your My Orders dashboard in ProDeploy, get to work on your purchased orders.

Imaging with Dell Image Assist

With Dell Image Assist we can help you create a custom, cross-platform image to apply to your Dell systems.

  • Set your standard: Build a reference system with the image you'd like to capture.
  • Create Image: Download and run Image Assist on your reference system to create a WIM image.
  • Test and Restore: Test and restore your Image Assist WIM image to make sure everything works as you expect.
  • Upload your Image: Upload your image to Dell through TechDirect, or ask your engagement manager for more details.

Self-Healing Image Recovery

Self-Healing Image Recovery is a feature in TechDirect that allows PC users to remotely manage the recovery preferences for individual PCs or a fleet of PCs. It provides a recovery environment that can be used to recover the operating system when a PC is unable to boot. The recovery process involves scanning for available operating systems and restoring them. Self-Healing Image Recovery requires minimal or no assistance from technical support and can be used to diagnose and troubleshoot issues before the PC boots to the operating system. It is important to note that the recovery process permanently deletes data from the PCs, so it is recommended to back up the PC data according to the policies and guidelines of the organization.

Connected Provisioning

Connected Provisioning allows you to ship ready-to-work devices directly to your workforce—straight from the Dell factory and all configured from a secure cloud platform when you order PCs. By leveraging the cloud, Dell is speeding up the way devices are configured. That means seamlessly and securely preconfiguring in days.

TechDirect stays in sync with your latest configurations, letting you dynamically deliver content for all your repeat orders. You get your custom systems into the hands of your workforce with less time in the factory. As an IT admin or technician, you are always in control and can alter your preferences at any time.

How it works:

  • Prepare for provisioning: Upload applications, set policies, and create profiles in your current unified endpoint management (UEM) solution.
  • Run a readiness check: Download and run our readiness check app to identify any issues before you get started.
  • Connect with TechDirect: Connect your UEM solution so profiles are available for repeat orders.
  • Manage Orders: Assign profiles to orders and track their progress from TechDirect.

Data Erase

Data Erase enables IT administrators to remotely erase PC data from the cloud or equip their organization with a secure solution that the employees can use to locally sanitize their devices from any location. This solution offers the flexibility of self-service software, ensuring that employees can manage their end-user data securely and conveniently.

Data Erase performs an erasure that is compliant with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-88 Revision 1 "Guideline for Media Sanitization"—NIST 800-88 Purge - ATA.

The Data Erase service is available with the purchase of ProDeploy Plus. With each ProDeploy Plus purchase, you are entitled to one erase credit. One erase credit can be used to erase one drive. As an IT Administrator, you can manage the erase credits using the TechDirect portal. TechDirect is an online portal that allows you to manage your Dell Technologies products from one central location saving you time and boosting your productivity.
