Before you begin, turn off the computer and disconnect all the attached peripherals to remove the memory modules. Unlatch the base cover. Lift the side cover from the chassis. Pry the retention tabs to release the front bezel. Slightly pull the front bezel and gently rotate to release. Identify the hard drive caddy. Remove the hard drive power and data cables.
Release the hard drive caddy from the tabs on the chassis. Slide the hard drive caddy out of the system. Remove the cables from the routing points on the cage. Slide the lock towards the left to unlock the cage. Lift the cage upwards and detach. Flip the cage.
Disconnect the power and Sata cables. Lift the cage away from the computer. Identify the coin cell battery. Using a plastic scribe, gently pry the coin cell battery out of the slot. Remove the coin cell battery away from the system. To reinstall the coin cell battery.
Insert the coin cell battery with the plus sign facing up. Press the battery into the connector until it locks into place. Connect the power and Sata cables. Flip the cage. Push the cage until the assembly. Slide the lock towards to lock the cage. Route the optical drive's power and data cables. Reinsert the hard drive caddy. Plug in the cables. Relax the front bezel. And relax. Base cover to the system.
