MFE zDP: Error Message: EIP0257W Persistent Copy Limit Reached with zDP VDG
Summary: If the SAVED_SNAPSETS option has been applied to a zDP VDG, the EIP0257W message may be displayed when the persistent copy limit is not reached.

Symptoms
When running zDP VDG with option Persistent_Copy_Limit(n), the count value (n) is not being reduced when saved_snapsets are being removed each day causing the following warning message.
EIP0257W VDG vdg_name, Persistent Copy Limit reached (nn)
Cause
This is due to a Software issue.
Resolution
Workaround:
Permanent fix:
- Do not use the Persistent_Copy_Limit option.
Or
- Set Persistent_Copy_Limit(256)
Permanent fix:
- For Mainframe Enablers 8.5, PTF SF85032 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell Online Support.
- For Mainframe Enablers 8.4, PTF SF84115 has been developed to correct the issue. It is available to download from Dell Online Support.
