RecoverPoint for VMs: CLI command get_group_statistics may not show updated information

Summary: get_group_statistics command in RecoverPoint for Virtual Machines(VMs) uses cached memory and may show stale information at times.

Symptoms

Some of the information in the CLI command get_group_statistics may be cached and sometimes stale, mainly on Journal lag latest image:

Journal:
          Usage: 6.59 GB
          Total: 7.71 GB
          Latest image: Tue Nov 23 2022 23:34:15
          Current image: Tue Nov 29 2022 21:38:39
          Journal lag: 5.44 GB

 

Cause

"get_group_statistics" command gets information from the cached data on the Site Control RecoverPoint Appliance (RPA) and may not get updated sometimes, even after a few days.

Resolution

Workaround:

Try to run the command from the other site.
Reboot the Site Control RPA to force the refresh of all cached information:
ssh/putty to the RecoverPoint cluster IP with user admin -> [5] Shutdown/Reboot operations -> [1] Reboot RPA.


Resolution:
Dell Technologies engineering is investigating this issue. A permanent fix is still in progress. Contact the Dell Technologies Customer Support Center or your service representative for assistance and reference this solution ID.
