PowerFlex 3.X: Gateway Fails To Collect Logs Due To 9K MTU Mismatch

Symptoms

The GW takes a long time when performing a log collection and eventually times out. 

An error may be seen as "Invalid LIA session" even though the LIA authentication succeeds in the "Maintain" tab.

LIA authentication can be confirmed if it shows "Native" not Invalid.

Cause

The GW's operations.log reports errors stating the command to query the installed components failed due to an Invalid LIA session and a login is required:
 

ERROR operations - Could not run get_info script with copyRepositories=false, collectExceptionOnly=false, liteVersion=false, copyBinaries=false, mdmUsername=admin on node 192.168.152.34 due to: Command failed: Invalid credentials for node 192.168.152.34
ERROR operations - Could not run get_info script with copyRepositories=false, collectExceptionOnly=false, liteVersion=false, copyBinaries=false, mdmUsername=admin on node 192.168.160.13,192.168.152.13 due to: Command failed: Could not query installed components on node 192.168.160.13,192.168.152.13 due to: Invalid LIA session. The GW's scaleio.log reports errors as shown below reporting an Invalid LIA session:

Resolution

If the PowerFlex cluster uses a 9K MTU configuration (jumbo frames), then it must be set across all components. This includes elements within a virtual (e.g. VMware) and physical infrastructure.

Verify jumbo frames can be pinged from the GW to SDSs on all data subnets:

ping -M do -s 8972 x.x.x.x
