Connectrix MDS: The show tech-support details generation completes partially on the switch

When collecting the "show tech-support details," only the information from the line cards is collected. The information that "show tech-support details" should be collected prior to collecting information from line cards is not collected.

"show tech-support" can be collected without issue.

Cisco TAC confirmed it is bug CSCwp15594: https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCwp15594  

Conditions:

This applies to all MDS 9700 switches running on 9.4(2a). 

Fix:

Upgrade to 9.4(3.48) as per Cisco bug description, updated on 4 June, however, this version is not available from Dell. 

Workaround:

Attempt to collect "show tech-support" from the switch.

If a "show tech-support details" is to be collected, collect it using below commands:

# term len 0

# show tech-support details commands > bootflash:sh-tech-cmds.bat

# show file bootflash:sh-tech-cmds.bat | grep "^show" > only-show-cmds.txt

# run-script bootflash:only-show-cmds.txt
