Unable to create CIFS share with large number of clients from command line fails with **** Syntax error - token too long.
Reducing the number of clients for the command will complete but using the cifs modify command will overwrite the existing client list for the share

Příčina

A single string input for the clients variable of the CIFS command will only allow 1024 characters as a single input

Řešení

break up the client list to less than 1024 characters per string input surrounded in double quotes and separate each string input with a comma

for example 
 cifs share create share-name path /data/col1/backup clients "first_list_of_clients_less_than_1024_charcters","second_list_of_clients_less_than_1024_charcters"
