We have observed performance degradation pertaining to solid state drive (SSD)s and encryption. There is a noticeable performance drop on both SATA and SSD drives when Dell Data Protection | Encryption is in use (AES-256). During file write operations in Encryption Disk Benchmarking, SSD Performances issues reported also for FVE drives. The slow device performance is affecting encrypted and nonencrypted data.

The performance of Dell Data Protection has been improved and optimized in many releases from 8.X to 11.X, is recommended upgrading to the latest available version.
