Instructions

  1. Upload the file to the VNX-FILE Control Station. Once it is uploaded, extract the file with the following command:
[nasadmin@CS0 tmp]$ tar -xvf KB000479575-IPRep_Health_Check_V1.3.tar
Replication_Health_Check.pl
[nasadmin@CS0 tmp]$ ls -al
-rw-rw-r-- 1 nasadmin nasadmin 112640 Aug 15 08:01 KB000479575-IPRep_Health_Check_V1.3.tar
-rwxrwxr-x 1 nasadmin nasadmin 102131 Aug 15 07:50 Replication_Health_Check.pl
  1. Verify the MD5SUMs match with the following command:
[nasadmin@CS0 tmp]$ md5sum *
d621f3e53770a5b6e1d61590562eb718  KB000479575-IPRep_Health_Check_V1.3.tar
8859de64706171fc19e1d245e7b80670  Replication_Health_Check.pl
[nasadmin@CS0 tmp]$

How to initiate a health check
  1. Run the following command to initiate a health check:
[nasadmin@CS0 tmp]$ ./Replication_Health_Check.pl -full

The program takes several minutes to complete. A summarized output is displayed to the screen to confirm it is progressing. Once the program is complete, follow the instructions on how to address any issues that are uncovered.

In addition to the screen output, there is a verbose log file that is created and stored locally on the control station. See the log file for more in-depth information about any errors. The file name and location varies and is displayed while the program is running.

A new addition is added to view a "live system performance throughput" summary on the system's current replication sessions. This is to help show, "at a high level," the system performance statistics.

-inter : Validates local and remote interconnects (This is time consuming)
-repl  : Reviews Replication related statistics
-fs     : Reviews File System and CKPT settings
-perf  : Display Replication Performance Statistics (not a health check)
