Instructions
During the Upgrade from v3.7.x to v4.1.1 one collector host was offline and not registered in the Front end. After the upgrade the collector was brought back online and had to be upgraded. Use the following process to update the individual collector.
- The certificates file provided with the Java installation is overwritten during the upgrade. If you have certificates stored in this file (such as for an LDAP server configuration), save the certificates file before the upgrade, and restore the file after the upgrade.
- /opt/APG/Java/Sun-JRE/<Java version>/lib/security copy off the cacerts file (do not use the java installation directory as that will be overwritten)
- Copy off etc/sysconfig/SuSEfirewall2.d/services/apg changes that may have been made to the firewall configuration can be reapplied after upgrade
- Shut down the collector vm and take a snapshot
- Run patch as per KB 489632 (vapp-update-201609-patch.sh)
- Re-register the collector host (previously removed from the environment) back into the front end
